STAFF ACCOUNTANT

STAFF ACCOUNTANT needed as an additional to accounting team in the north Sacramento area. This is a full time, temp to hire role for the right person who can work well on a team yet produce at high levels independently.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules for multiple entities and states.

• Research and analyze assigned accounts, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

• Support fixed asset budgeting and forecasting: analyze fixed asset expenditures and assist with capital planning and reporting.

• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports for all books.

• Reconcile, research, and resolve discrepancies in assigned balance sheet accounts; create journal entries and update schedules as required.

• Assist in daily treasury management.

• Assist in preparing schedules for tax accountants and external auditors.

• Assist in reconciling yearly property tax filings and reconcile payments.

• Answer accounting and financial questions from internal customers.

• Learn and apply the latest accounting standards and regulations.

• Other duties as assigned.
  

SKILLS

• Ability to research accounting principles, regulations, and technical bulletins.

• Skilled in presenting information and responding to questions from managers, customers, and general public.

• Capable of analyzing large data sets using reporting tools or MS Excel.

• Desire to master excel and other tools: pivot tables, excel tables, power query, macros, sequel, etc.

• MS Excel, Sage fixed assets, prior tax PBC management, audit experience.
  

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Three to six years related accounting experience. One or more years managing fixed assets.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid driver license and a clean DMV report.

Pay Range: $32-$38

Must be able to clear a thorough drug screening and criminal background check, provide a minimum of two supervisory references and proper documentation to verify eligibility to work in the USA.
